Barndale House School is really pleased to be working with Northumbria Police on
the Operation Encompass – the Next Steps project.
The project aims to break the cycle of Domestic Abuse through education and
support at an appropriate level for our pupils. It will help all of our children and young
people learn about friendships, relationships, emotions and rules so that they can
live and work together safely.
The school is working with a School Safeguarding Liaison Officer who leads age
appropriate sessions with children and young people, and will also be available in
school at specified times so that parents, adults and pupils can talk to them about
any issues that they may have around relationships and Domestic Abuse.
We believe that this project demonstrates our school’s commitment to working in
partnership to safeguard and protect children and our commitment to providing the
best possible care and support for our pupils.
In the meantime, if you would like to speak to someone further about the project or
require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Daley Barber-Allen
(Headteacher) or Helen Hemsley (Deputy Headteacher) at the school.
